The Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) program recognizes event professionals who have successfully demonstrated the knowledge, ability and skills essential to plan and execute all components of a special event.
In a competitive industry such as events, one requires an increasing level of professionalism and distinction. The CSEP designation sets professionals apart from the competition and indicates expertise in the preparation and execution of successful special events.
To qualify for the exam, one must have a minimum of three years of full-time professional employment in the special events industry. ISES endorses and administers the voluntary program for those who qualify. The CSEP program is practice-based. It is not intended to teach individuals how to effectively become event professionals. Rather, it is designed to measure an individual’s “knowledge-in-use” – the application of knowledge and skills by those with real-life experience in this role. There is a test center located right outside of the city of Pittsburgh and exams are offered four times a year.
